what should a weight loss diet consist of exactly?

i am 17 years old and weigh 65 kgs im abit chubby and i do exercise pretty much everyday and im looking to lose some weight to participate in kickboxing comps. So what should my diet consist of? and how long should my runs be going for and at what intensity?

OK READ ME. I see the same people just posting the same sentence and link. Ill tell you right here and up front

this is especially great for athletes

Did you know a plant based diet improves muscle retention and function?

I will dispell the protein myth right now. There are plenty of full spectrum protein sources that are plant based. Animal proteins are uneccesary and cause your body to become acidic.

A raw vegan diet is the perfect diet for maintaining ideal weight, never compromising muscle mass, and providing you a complete array of energy for any athletic activity.

First let me cover what you posted about your excercises. Im glad you run im glad your getting into kickboxing. I run as well but what you should know about running is that its much harder on your joints than simply walking. Walking is an incredible excercise because it doesnt stress your body to the max.

to the diet…

I would reccomend in the morning a green smoothie or somehting of the sorts. Get some frozen berries. strawberries blackberries, blueberries store them in the freezer. Stock up on bananas, and find yourself a plant based protein powder. Vega is the best but probabbly quite pricy for someone your age unless you have someone supporting you well financialy. Its about 50 bucks for a months supply so it may be a little much.

You can find a raw source of brown rice protein just search sunwarrior on google. they make a good protein additive, your local helath food store should have 1 of 3 things Hemp protein, (no it wont get you high and yes people have been eating it for thousands of years) brown rice protein, and pea protein. Mostly it wont deteriorate the taste of your morning smoothies. and throw in about a tablespoon of raw coconut oil.

This will solve the dillemma of breakfast and it can be done in about a third of the time. youll be up and out the door faster than ever. The nutrition will keep you full well into lunch time.

drink purified water throughout the day.

snack on fruits like grapes, cherries, apricots, peaches, be creative theres alot out there.

lunch should consist of a plant based salad. Chop up some cucumbers, lettuce spinach or whatever greens you like, add some onions carrots or any other vegetables. Make a dressing with garlic, flax oil cold pressed olive oil and whatever spices you like. chop your vegetables finely.

To give it substance chop up some RAW almonds and or sunflower seeds mix them with spices or just toss them into your salad for substance

make sure the seeds and nuts you buy are RAW. INGREDIENTS MUST SAY RAW!
why? cooking or roasting anything destroys the enzymes. This si the secret to obtaining incredible health energy and vitality!

for dinner be creative, there are tons of raw recipes out there,
there are some and will be more available at http://www.natural-green-guide.com

and you can read more about the raw vegan diet at http://www.natural-green-guide.com/raw-food-diet.html

by the way the creator of vega – my raw food morning smoothie burst… is a raw vegan triathlete. Yep a vegan triathlete. a plant based diet will throw you YEARS ahead of your curb.

Boxes wont be the only thing you kick if you fuel yourself in such a positive way my friend!

Enjoy and learn as much as you can! no matter how little the people around you care for thier health YOU DONT HAVE TO END UP LIKE THEM!

Is there anyway to lose weight fast without any type of exercise?Like im talking about like 20 pounds in about a month or so.I don’t have any time to do any form of exercise.

The Anshar Diet

As an American I’ve seen enough crazy fad diets in my day to fill several weeks full of infomercials and advertisements. As such I’m going to give you the benefit of many years of health and nutrition classes and do my good deed for the year.

I’m going to tell you how to not only lose weight but change the composition of your body, increase your health, and best of all.. keep it off.

First, let’s dispel some common myths.

Myth 1:
Eating less calories will make me lose weight.
Unfortunately this isn’t always true. A lot of different factors program your metabolism but one of the key things is how OFTEN you eat. If you fast all day long and then have a 500 calorie meal at the end of the day almost ALL of it will be stored by your body.

Myth 2:
I can have a diet with no carbs and be healthy.
This really is a testament to how much Americans want a quick fix. Diets like the Atkin’s Diet cause your body to start devouring itself, increase your cholesterol, and in certain cases can even kill you. One thing I WON’T argue, death will indeed cause you to lose weight, permanently.

Myth 3:
If I go on a diet I will lose weight.
99% of people who go on diets will end up putting on MORE weight than they lost from a diet. This is because diet is supposed to be a LIFESTYLE change, not something you do for 2 weeks. If you starve your body it will make fat cells and increase their size even faster.

Myth 4:
I need to go out and exercise to lose weight.
This isn’t actually true but it’s important to say that having daily activities WILL keep you healthy. If you burn almost no calories every day what else do you think your body is going to do with them? Balancing a healthy lifestyle with a good diet is what you want here, not killing yourself by running every afternoon.

Myth 5:
The scale in my bathroom gives me a good idea of how healthy I am.
The dreaded bathroom scale does NOT tell you how healthy you are. Let’s say I have 10 lbs of fat, don’t drink water, and have little muscle mass. Then I work out for 3 months and hydrate every day. I lose 5 lbs of fat but gain 7 lbs of muscle and 3 pounds of average water weight. What will happen when I look at the scale? Are you being fair to yourselves? Judge yourself by how you feel, not what a spinning number under your feet tells you.

With these common myths out of the way I’ll tell you the secret. It’s five simple steps.

~~The Anshar Diet~~
1. Only eat until you are no longer hungry.
This does NOT mean that you starve yourself. It means after you take a few bites of food ask yourself if you’re still hungry. If you’re not, into the fridge it goes. While we’re at it, CHEW YOUR FOOD. at least 10 times per bite (using common sense if you’re eating applesauce, this isn’t an excuse to be an idiot).

2. Eat at least 6 (more if your schedule allows) meals a day.
I know this seems counterintuitive, but hear me out. If you eat 6-8 meals a day the meals are very small (often around 100-200 calorie "snacks"), provided you are only eating until you are NOT HUNGRY. When your body is not hungry your metabolism will not try to store energy as fat. It really is that simple. Smaller meals aid in digestion, they increase the nutrition you get from your food, and they keep you from being lethargic. If you eat when you’re hungry your body stores MORE of it as fat ("Hmm. I’m hungry, I don’t know where my next meal will come from! I’d better hold onto this.")

3. Eat BEFORE you get hungry.
Schedule your 6-10 meals throughout the day and stick to them. If you’re waiting until you get hungry to eat you’ve already screwed this up. Your body stores energy if you’re hungry, if your body sees food and just takes what it needs then you’re running at optimum efficiency. This is called programming your metabolism.

4. Eat breakfast. Always.
Your first meal of the day is also the meal you have no choice over being hungry for. Your body has been replenishing itself all night and needs fuel. Since now you KNOW that hunger means you store your food then that means you want to keep breakfast LIGHT. A cup of cereal and a banana. A granola bar and an apple. LIGHT does NOT mean you skip breakfast. If you skip breakfast you are telling your metabolism to turn ALL of the next meal you eat into stored fat.

5. Drink water.
(I’m a big hypocrite on this one, but I can’t stress it enough) Most people think that if they pick up a glass of orange juice instead of a soda they’re doing themselves a favor, and that’s not entirely true. A glass of orange juice can have just as many calories as some sodas. Try looking at the label sometime. If you’re thirsty, drink water. If you love your soda then have your soda (real soda, not diet, artificial sweetners have been argued to be one of the worst things to ever happen to western civilization). If you decide to have a drink to treat yourself, pour yourself a half glass, don’t take a can or bottle with you and for go

How can I help my husband survive colon cancer?

He has stage III, possibly IV, colon cancer. He has had a portion of his large intestine, along with the cancer removed. However 6 out of 10 lymph nodes in that portion contained cancer. Also the cat scan showed something in the liver but he is to get an MRI to determine if that is cancer or not. He will be receiving chemo. through a port, 2 days every week for 6 months. Are there any alternative or additional treatments available?

Hi there! I am not sure where you are located, but I know what you’re going through, both as a caregiver and a from a patients prospective. I am going to be 33 next week, I was diagnosed at 28 with stage 2 colon cancer. I have the gene that causes colon cancer-HNPCC(Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colorectal Colon Cancer), MLH-1 mutation. My mom passed it to me, she got it from her father, etc., My father also had colon cancer three months after me at age 73. He’s had 7 cancers in 13 years-currently has leukemia and I currently have stage 1 cervical cancer.

The previous poster was right in answering all the questions and listing the different types of chemo-I did Folfox-5FU, with Oxaliplatin, and Leukovorin-I ended up having an allergic reaction to that after I had that nice port put in and they did 6 months of oral Xeloda with me. However, at the time they were doing clinical trials with Avastin and I hear that’s AWESOME stuff.

Don’t fret or lose hope! I have know people that were written off and stage 4 and they’re here 10 years later! My advice to you and your husband is to be proactive! Listen and ask questions to your doctors, they are there to serve you! If you don’t like their responses get another opinion, yes, time is of the essence, but this is life here, people get second opinions on their houses, cars, etc. take the time to do it on your body-I so wish we had did with my mother! Keep a chart-medical record-get copies of everything HIPPA allows you that freedom of your medical record-you’ll need this information because chemo is no joy ride and if he gets ill and needs to go to the er you have his "current" chart there with you-it will speed things up and help the ER docs, etc treat him faster if needed.

I don’t know what state you’re located in or else I could provide you with more resources and contacts. How old is he? Also a PET scan-google or yahoo it! It is used to "help" diagnose cancer-better than an MRI IMO, they use it as a "re-staging" for cancer patients, my father and I have one done every 3-6 months, basically it’s like a CT scan, but it’s of your whole body, and they inject a little dye and you drink some barium and it’s this SUV (Standard Uptake Value) that is measured-it highlights up on the films like a highlighter, the higher the numbers-the greater the chance there is metabolic abnormalities there, thus cancerous cells.

Chemo is going to be difficult, at least for me and my mother it was-my dad is very fortunate, he tolerates it well. Some things to keep in mind-use plastic utensils to eat things with-stuff will taste like metal if you don’t and don’t eat things from metal containers like canned fruit, etc., Once the chemo starts taking effect, like the second dose-he’ll get the cold hands sensation-so no cold liquids-room temperature will be just fine, same thing with being around the fridge and freezer items & same goes with the grocery store-when you pick up a cold item it’s like electricity is running through your veins. Avoid high acids foods-reflux and upset stomach will just set in-not a good combination. Zofran 4 & 8 mg was the best nausea med & now they have some that are in dissolvable kind for the tongue.

If his blood counts go down from chemo-which they probably will, he may have to take procrit or neulasta(sp) shots, the latter will cause some bone pain because it affects your bone marrow, it’s normal, but don’t hesitate to mention it to your doctor-don’t hesitate to mention anything to the doctor!

Also-neuropathy-numbness in hands and feet-I found that vitamins B6 & B12 are amazing when it comes to this-but check with the doc first. If diarrhea sets in bad, A&D ontiment is good to have on hand, as are baby wipes & marshmellows-if he can tolerate them, they slow down the digestive track a little cause you get tired of taking immodium or at least I did.

I would love to talk to you some more, or heck I’d even chat w you over the net, check out my profile, it’s got my IM info in there! Good luck!

What is the best colon cleanser?

I have been wanting to try a new colon cleanser, but a lot of them are really expensive. What is a good colon cleanser to use for a decent price (not more than $50)?

Metamucil. Check the ingredients label, the main ingredients in all those products is psyllium. Metamucil contains the same psyllium but at a fraction of the cost. I’m afraid those colon cleanse products are entirely a rip off.

Can someone tell me a fast weight loss diet?

I am going on a cruise in a few months and I need to lose around 30 lbs so I won’t be embarrassed when I go swimming. Can someone recommend a fast weight loss diet that doesn’t cost tons of money?

Thanks!

I think it all starts with eating right and doing excerise first. I wasn’t always in shape. Many years ago I was very overweight and didn’t watch what I ate and it quickly became out of control. I tried every machine and diet food out there..along with many diet programs but none of them worked. A few years back I tried a program called the automatic fat loss system http://www.bestfastweightlossdiet.com which worked wonders for me. It takes you through everything you need to know in order to lose weight fast. Try it out , it may work for you in time for the cruise! Have fun!!! The link is below if you want to look at that program Mike:

How can I lose weight fast with little time??

I’m no where near being overweight or anything but I have gained some extra weight and I really want to lose it.
I have more fat on my thighs stomach and my butt. I need some ways to help lose the extra pounds fast when I have only a few hours a day to spare. Anything from eating tips to exercise equipment (small if possible) anything would help me big time. I really need serious answers for real. I need the help form anyone that is in the same spot as me or that really knows what they are talking about.
Thanks so much.

Do your cardio 3 to 5 times a week, 45 minutes to an hour each time round. You can do briskwalk or any of the cardio machines in the gym. Drink lots of plain water a day. Moderate your eating habits. If you can, do bodyweight squats and lunges every alternate day for resistance training. key to success is consistency.

According to some, either you wait and die, or you are a racist. Which would you rather be? Dead or racist?

Is following a diet plan better, than just trying to lower your calories yourself? (if you feel following a diet plan is the best, could you say which one please)

Also, is it better to more look at the fat in what your eating, than the calories?.

Thanks for any sensible answers.

xx

low carb diets are best. the key is to watch how foods affect your blood sugar, namely insulin. if you eat foods such as rice, bread, potatoes etc, they are broken down into simple sugars (glucose) and flow into your bloodstream. when your blood sugar rises above normal levels insulin is released to lower the amount in the blood. the only way to do this is to store the sugar in muscles or the liver. when these stores are full, it gets stored as fat. (this means jacket potatoes, rice and especially fruit, can increase body fat!)

the trick is to eat slow burning high fibre carbs such as oatmeal, wheatabix etc as this doesnt have as much of an effect on insulin.

high protein meals keep insulin low and arent converted to fat as easily but still keep you full so eat as much chicken, fish, steak and eggs as you want.

if you must eat pasta or potatoes etc, a good tip is to eat fibrous vegetables with it such as brocolli or green beans as the high fibre content slows down then digestion of the carbohydrates and helps them enter the blood stream more slowly which means the insulin release is much lower helping to prevent fat storage.

on the flip side, if blood sugar is below normal, glucagon is released (the oposite to insulin) and this breaks down fat for the body to use as energy, this is what you want.

bottom line, low carb diets are best, easier to follow long term as crash diets never work. keep meals high protein, lots of veg, go easy on fruit and drink lots of water.

also make sure you exercise on a daily basis, even if its just a long brisk walk. the best time is first thing in the morning before eating as you havent eaten while your asleep so your blood sugar is already low and your body will burn fat for energy.

one last thing to answer your question, its important to look at the fat content of the foods you eat obviously BUT the important thing to look at is the simple carbohydrate content. as i was saying earlier, its the effect on insulin that matters rather than calories.

for example, a bottle of lucozade has zero fat but is simple sugars. if you drank this regularly, you’d put alot of weight on as it goes straight to the blood.

hope this helps

I need to lose weight fast please and don’t give answers like surgeries or pills or anything crazy that I can’t do just give me exercises that help lose weight..And for the nails anything except pills! Thankyou please answer!!

To lose weight, a low fat diet, coupled with a cardio routine is necessary. Cardio could include running on a treadmill, walking, swimming, jumping jacks, anything that gets you going. Working out with weights is okay, as long as they’re not too heavy, so you don’t bulk up with muscle. To grow you hair out, give it time and make sure to keep split ends trimmed, or else your hair won’t grow as fast. To grow your nails long, use Sally Hansen nail strengthener, which you can get at Walmart or the drugstore for cheap, and it really works! Good luck, and I hope I helped!

Assuming someone is eating healthy and exercising, what is the best diet pill to aid in weight loss?

If you are really looking for the best diet, I suggest doing what this mom did…
