What are some ways to stay motivated when on a weight loss diet?
I’ve tried so many times to lose weight, but I always end up losing my motives.
I was wondering how others continue their diets and go on.
Just think of all of the health benefits you’ll have. If you’re overweight right now and you lose just even 5-10 pounds, you can reduce your risk of heart disease and diabetes. Also, when you’re eating food and you’re getting tempted by junk, ask yourself- what do I love more? Myself or that piece of cake?

First, make a game plan. Set specific goals – although realistic ones – and a timeline for achieving them. Keep it positive by rewarding yourself when you reach the goals, such as a pedicure, a new work out outfit, etc. You will have something to look forward to, which will help to keep you motivated.
Post a picture of yourself at your largest on the refrigerator so you won’t be tempted to snack or eat something that will derail your healthy diet. For some, it might be more motivating to put up a picture of you looking your best (if you used to be really fit) or an image of a celebrity you admire. Either way, this image will serve as a reminder to keep you on track to losing weight.
Another good tactic is the buddy system. Share your goals with a friend who is also trying to lose weight and hold each other accountable. Tell your friends and family that you are committed to losing weight and ask for their support. Compliments on your progress will do a lot for your confidence and keep you motivated. On on the contrary, if you slip and start to eat that big piece of cake you can be sure they will call you out on it!
Finally, learn to love yourself at each step of the way. Note how good you feel after a workout, or how eating healthy gives you so much energy. Take stock of your progress so far and congratulate yourself. The worst thing you can do is to become overwhelmed and give up. Stay motivated and you are sure to succeed at weight loss!

i imagine myself finally being comfortable to walk around in a bathing suit, not feeling like everyone is watching me.
i also enjoy seeing myself in smaller sizes, and getting on that scale every week and seeing i went down 2 pounds, or 3 pounds.
it makes me very proud of myself, and you should be proud too.

Almost every dieter has fallen off track when working towards their weight loss goals due to lack of motivation. Either they do not see results fast enough which discourages them and they quit or they do not have the willpower to stick with the diet. There are actually many different reasons why falling off a diet can happen, however, below you will find some tips to keep you motivated so you can stick with your diet and achieve the weight you want.
* Read inspirational magazines or books on healthy living, eating and fitness. Read about the success of other people and keep up to date on what works and what doesn’t.
* Write down why you want to lose weight and keep it around you. This can be a journal that you write in on a daily basis or a simple note to yourself about what you want to achieve and why. Read it on a daily basis to keep motivated. Pictures of celebrities with fit bodies or a certain dress you hope to fit in someday are good tools as well.
* Get yourself a friend to join you in your diet journey. You can compare results and talk about strategies. If they do not want to participate, you can still use them for support and to keep you accountable.
* Switch up the foods you eat. Do not limit what you can eat. Eat whatever you want, but make them smaller portions. This allows you to enjoy your favorite foods and still lose weight. It also can get quite boring if you are eating the same foods every day and this will definitely not motivate you. Allow yourself a healthy snack as well.
* Make yourself a deadline. This is so important. You have to have an ending point or you will wind up feeling as if there is no end. Plus, if you have a deadline, it keeps you motivated to reach your targeted weight goals by this deadline.
* Set realistic goals. These can be weekly goals or monthly goals. You can even set a goal for 3 to 6 months from now. As long as it is achievable, you will see success. Set some short term goals that you can achieve quickly while you are working on the longer term goals. This will keep you motivated in the process.
When dieting, it is important that you stay focused and positive. Start your day off by doing something that is good for yourself such as eating a low calorie breakfast or taking a brisk morning walk. This will help you get motivated to stick to your diet each day.
