I don’t need to lose a massive amount, but i need to loose 40 pounds to be at the correct weight for my height. I am trying to be healthy, i quit smoking bu just cannot find the right diet.

At forty pounds it is going to be a combination of things. Don’t feel distressed though, because as you lose weight it becomes easier and easier to keep it off. The combination I would use is calorie restriction, cardio, and resistance training (weight lifting.) It is going to be tough in the beginning and you will be sore everyday, but that is the only way to get to the weight you want to be at. One excellent source I used was Jillian Michaels book…..seriously. Make sure you are not starving yourself either. This only works if your metabolism is healthy. The good news is, if you are overweight, you will drop pounds pretty fast. Gaining muscle is the #1 goal. Muscle burns way more calories then fat.
